The Blessed Sacrament Major Atom boys basketball team won its division at the recent 40th Annual Brantford Catholic Youth Organization Paul Mitchell Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The team went undefeated in preliminary round play while displaying great sportsmanship and teamwork. Wins over Sarnia Valhalla, 47-20, Pelham Panthers, 55-50, Brantford Hawks, 42-38, London Ramblers, 20-0, propelled Blessed Sacrament into the finals and a 61-41 victory over the Hamilton Wildcats.
The team’s most valuable player award went to Baron Bayne and Blessed Sacrament’s leading scorer for the tournament was Matthew Duarte.
