After reading up on the gofundme page for Paul Byrne, I decided to post this up (and to wish Paul Byrne all the best). To any BSYJ people who I may have upset for whatever the reason(s), my apologies (times a thousand). The BSYJ people don't know me (even after countless conversations), and with posting photos of these same people, I figure it's time again to post something up that involves the web guy.
These photos were taken by a teacher at Lawfield Elementary and are on display in one of the JK/SK rooms. http://www.gofundme.com/bringpaulbyrnehome Paul Byrne has kept us laughing for decades with his razor-sharp wit and observations of the world around him. And then when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate cancer a year ago, he inspired us with his #shitkickcancer attitude. Throughout the chemo journey, he continued to share his love for his family -- everyone knows about Rebecca -- through his blog and lead a senior girls basketball team to a provincial championship. Now he needs us. After surgery in September, Paul was hit with blood clots to his lung and heart, ultimately landing him in a persistent vegetative state. It is unknown how long it will last or what the outcome will be. What we do know is that he needs to come home to Newfoundland where he can be surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. Right now, his wife Carolyn and Rebecca are at his side constantly in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) at St. Joseph's Hospital. They need your help. The cost of an air ambulance to transport Paul home to St. John's is roughly $40,000. Any additional funds raised will go towards Rebecca's education. We urge you to support this fund in an effort to get him there. It's a chance to give back to someone who has given so much. He fought the good fight; let's bring him home! *Please note this is a global campaign and all donations are reflected in US currency. Please adjust your donations accordingly for your location and currency exchange.
